Restaurant Training Manager

The Training Manager (TM) is responsible for the oversight of and following-up on completion of Daddy’s manager and hourly employee training programs. Responsible for developing training syllabuses, protocols, procedures, techniques, and best practices as support tools that Regional Developers (RDs) and franchisees can utilize to properly train their Daddy’s managers and employees. Supervises, schedules, and assigns a team of trainers who provide pre-and post-opening training support at all Daddy’s openings. Manages and monitors Daddy’s Manager-In-Training (MIT) training program and administers all General Manager and Assistant General Manager Certification examinations. Ensures all brand standards and systems are effectively trained and implemented in all Daddy’s.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Standards at New Openings: The Training Manager effectively communicates professionally and concisely through electronic, written, and verbal means of Daddy’s Brand Standards to all Regional Developers (RDs) and franchisees. Leads a team of trainers and coordinators who supports franchisee community by providing management teams with advice, guidance, and expertise in the training of employees to brand standards at new Daddy’s openings.

  • Daddy’s MIT Program: Manages MIT program in collaboration with Training General Managers (TGMs) who provide training materials, training syllabuses and other resources that enable all candidates to successfully complete Daddy’s MIT program. Monitors progress of all MITs in system during training process and administers all GM/AGM Certification Exams.

  • Leadership: Gets things done though others. Recruits and trains all Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) trainers for new Daddy’s Openings. Develops a path to promotion for subordinates to the next level opportunities.

  • Maintain Daddy’s Culture: As the company training liaison with all Daddy’s RDs and Franchisees fosters collaboration and inspires a shared training vision.  Provides support for all Daddy’s manager and hourly training programs. Supports, reinforces, and align decisions with Daddy’s cultures to ensure perfectly executed food is delivered with “warm hug” service.

  • Training and Development: Produces training and operational support materials and documents. Trains and develops an effective and energetic team of Training Managers, Trainers, and providing training and operational support for all company and franchisee Daddy’s. Establishes a roster of in-store trainers and training programs that can be utilized by the Daddy’s Chicken Shack franchise system.

  • Limited Role: The Training Manager must ensure they, nor their trainers or training coordinators, do not direct RDs or franchisee staff or employees with respect to their employment, pay, reporting, or discipline.

  • Financial Accountability: Maintains full responsibility for financial performance of company owned Daddy’s training department. Responsible for arranging travel and hotel accommodation for all trainers and training coordinators and ensuring all field training-related expenses and invoices are accurate, accounted for, and under established budgets. Responsible for all other budgeted expense and payroll within the training department. Works with Franchise Director of Operations to establish training budget for the company Daddy’s training

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the fast food or casual dining industry.

  • Experience with a Learning Management Software such as: Schoox, Docebo, Litmos, or TalentLMS etc.

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.

  • Has completed Daddy’s MIT training program.

  • Possesses current approved  Food Safety and Sanitation Manager certification.

  • Ability to diplomatically resolve conflict and foster collaboration.

  • Knowledge of the QSR/Fast Casual industry.

  • Knowledge and skills in training with a record of results.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and able to adapt to new software, systems, and procedures easily.

  • New store opening experience a plus.

  • Strong interest in and ability to adapt to new restaurant technologies including inventory control, labor management, DSP and CRM software.

  • Excellent facilitation skills: controls and commands a room, is highly interactive, and drives knowledge retention.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal and communication skills.
